When I look at how London has been cleaned up for the Olympics I do muse on what can be done when the political will is there.The opening ceremony cost £27m and was for just a one off event.The area around the Olympic stadium has cost billions to clean up and in effect create a new city,all public money who will reap the profit from the increase in value of the land? I'm not too sure but Canary Wharf is just a cycle ride away and the corporations based there could make big bucks fron buying up the area after the Olympics has left town.So the public purse takes on most of the cost to turn it over to private capital to enrich themselves further.Just a thought
