They are having a problem with an invasive species known as the Zebra Mussel. The city is lowering the water level in the lake in hopes of freezing them out this winter. They are originally from Southeast Russia but are making their way acorss the U.S. This is the first Nebraska lake sighting of this dreaded freshwater mussel. - Omaha
