Yellowstone National Park - USA

In August 2008 we made a second trip to Yellowstone National Park.
We travelled around the park for 10 days managing to visit most areas of the park despite the fires between Fishing Bridge & Hayden Valley.
The experience was again amazing with wonderful vistas, dramatic scenes and incredible wildlife.
This gallery is my attempt to show the magical nature of the worlds oldest National Park.
I hope you enjoy it and welcome any comments, feedback on the photography.

Fantastic pictures! It is on my 'wish list' to revisit Yosemite and take in Yellowstone too. Did you see Yogi and Boo Boo?

I was in Yellowstone during the 1988 fires in late July. The fires caused us to detour lots of times on the south pass because the fires would get close to the roads. I was also there in 1994 in early June and it snowed 6 to 8 inches even on the the roads on the 14th. We were on our way back home to Georgia. It seems as though each time we go to Yellowstone something freaky happens. The very first time, with my folks, we were in the West Yellowsotne area in 1961 after the earthquake in '59, a rock came into the back of our station wagon and broke it out on a Saturday afternoon. Scrared us real good. We had seen the cracks in the ground, serpentine fences, houses broken up, roads messed up, and the lake that formed from the mountain falling down into a valley, ruffled us up good. The first time in 1975 I took my new wife to Yellowstone, we were involved in an earthquate that registed 4.2 on the scale. We were at a picnic area eating lunch and saw the ground move up and down. We also heard Obsidian Cliff that once hung out over the road, collaspe. So it is strange that when I go to Yellowstone something weird always happens. I have not been since 1994 and can't wait to go again......no matter what happens!!!! Thanks for Sharring!!!
