Not a great photo, but in the circumstances!
We had just begun a short walk to the Secret Lake; I was walking in front through some thick bush and this Black bear suddenly jumped from the creek alongside the path and stared straight at me. He was no more than 30 feet away.
I started walking backwards back towards Tina and the bear turned away and walked the other way. Once we were at a safe distance he stopped and looked back and I took this photo.

I have to say that after many walks wishing that we could bump into a bear, when it happened it was somewhat of a shock and a little scary!!!

I took a few more shots before abandoning our walk for that afternoon.

On reflection, and now that I am safe, it was a marvellous and special moment, but not to be repeated to soon.
