I took these photos in maybe 1978. I didn't know much about the property at the time, but the two cows were a fixture in the growing Bel Air area and was a bit of a hold out to another time.
At the time of the photos, I was taking photography classes at Harford Community College under Jack Radcliff. The purpose of me climbing the fence on the south side of the pasture was to document what I knew was going to be gone in a few years. Little did I know, that I would have some of the only pictures of the two cows, one of which was Betsy.
The property today is a bustling strip mall with two restaurants. "Pave paradise and put up a parking lot."
