Little Green Heron

Bonnet Carrie Spillway

I took Gayle to the spillway ponds this afternoon. Although they are drying up fast with the drought we are having they were still full of birds trying to get a meal. This little fellow was watching for a meal and watching us also.

Must be tough having to watch for prey and pedators at the same time.

It's a pretty little one. The drought effects so many animals & birds. We have been seeing it for years here.
