Gayle and I traveled to West Baton Rouge and then St. Francisville. This is a view of Oakley plantation's kitchen and its cistern. John J. Audubon did 32 of his bird paintings during a four months stay here. And yes it stills holds water that they use to make lye soap behind the building.
