Egrets in the Fog

Lake Martin, Louisiana

Gayle and I are spending the weekend at Lake Martin. I hope you are ready for lots of bird pictures. This one was early this morning and is of egrets sitting on their nests. The pink bird in the upper right is a Roseate Spoonbill in breeding plumage.See an excellent close up in Gayle's PAD at http://www.pbase.com/gpc/image/40429489 .

I like the subtle low key lighting and the way the birds are hunched up in that fog.

I love this with the fog and the one spot of pink in the monotone image. Great capture.

Really wonderful, Breland. The fog gives it that hint of mystery. Before I even scrolled down, I thought 'Roseate Spoonbill' :)

Wow, lovely image....I'm very jealous of you both, although we are headed out, in the morning, for Southern California by way of Nevada and Arizona, so I'm not "quite" as jealous as I would be, otherwise. ;-)

Ha wow your trees are full. A flock of egret I've never seen this in Mn. Sometimes there is one or two. Great catch are you a bird addict yet?

I see you were palying in the fog this morning. I had a pretty tough time getting over the GNO this morning too. I bet you guys are having a blast. Have a great weekend Breland and Gayle. I'm always ready for bird shots. You know me!
