Bridge Over A Bayou

I took this right before the rain moved in this afternoon. I was remembering that about 30 years ago this was a small bayou running under the bridge going to the lake. This was one of my secret spots for catching crabs with only some string, 5 or 6 chicken necks and a dip net. The bayou used to run out about 200 feet from the bridge before it went into the lake. Now the bridge is about 200 feet into the lake.

Oh this feel good being able to open galleries. Great image, a Mark Twain sort of feeling to sit here & wait for a nibble ? :>)

Nice shot, Breland. You piqued my curiosity though. Why is the water rising here?

On a little spit of land (mostly rip-rap) that the RR and CE have been trying to save. If they loose the spit the current and waves will begin to wash out on the back side of the levee heading west.

Love those old steel bridges and they have withstood the test of time. Great capture.

Nice strong image. I'm trying to figure out where you are standing to shoot this.

Yes you still can crab in the area. The R/R bridge belongs to the CN system and is repainted every 10 years, it must be getting close.

Breland, can you still crab here?? Bridge looks like it could use a little public funding applied....

Amazing and a little scary to think that much land is going! I like the rusty bridge and the ripples on the water.
