Even if I was born in Syria and lived there for 18 years,I have never seen such a beatiful photos.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures of my ancestral land, which I may never be able to see in person. It is nice to see that there is more in Syria than Roman ruins.

Marcel....It is a joy to see the breadth and beauty of these images of place and people!... much to savor here. I appreciate your sensitivity for people, architecture, and the landscape shown in the range, detail, and overview of photos you've returned with from this journey.

From ancient stone, and family carpets, # 571, strong diagonal, stone arabesque, and golden light: #642, to the Hama weavers # 758, 759, &760. The girl and boy image that opens these galleries: endearing in a wider global sense, along with other portrait favorites such as #897, #1022, 1153, & 1233. Your baker series: hands, wheat becoming flour, becoming bread. A visual old world sensory feast: # 1209, containers reminding me of the old world charm of China, and back streets of Kyoto.

I find much to see and enjoy in these galleries, such as #717, its cool canopy of leaves, stone arch, and red soil... dazzling opening gallery image:#1050, and many more. Overall, an abundance: rich, layered, and IMO well realized...Truly a photographic treasure trove.

WOW!i have to admit these shots are so great! i really love all of them!they bring back many memories of many of these places in Damascus since its my homeland. I like how you captured the moments in a very true and realistic way.Damascus in specific is full of fascinating places.I'm not sure if you've visited other places in Damascus like the shrine of Iben Arabi the famous sofi or if u went to Saidnaya and Maloula where the oldest monastery exists and the ancient language of the Christ is still spoken to this day. But i have to admit that many of places you went to outside Damascus i haven't been to at all before!:)may be next time you go there you can guide me to those amazing places i haven't been to yet!:)
i was actually preparing some photos to view them about Damascus too from my last visit back in summer.Hope you can view them later when i finish. you gave me a boost to go back in summer and discover the hidden beauty of my country again. Thanks for giving me the chance to see Syria's beauty with new eyes:)
