RETURN TO SYRIA, 2006

These photos were taken during a two-week Easter trip in Syria, more specifically in the regions of Aleppo and Damascus.
For myself as well as my wife and my daughter, it was a most memorable experience, combining the beauty of architecture and ageless remains, with the warmth and dignity of present day Syrian population.
Canon 20-D, 17-40, 24-105 and 70-200 L lenses + 1.4 teleconverter.

This is a truly incredible gallery. I admire the sensitivity of your portraits. Your galleries allow us to have a glimpse of the beautiful country that is Syria. The quality of your photography is immaculate, but it is your sensitivity and artist's eye that make it beautiful.

What a superb gallery!! ... I see the care and attention of a photographer’s eye: an honest tribute, a truthful, respectful portrayal of people, and place. It is also timely, a gallery of significance in light of current events. I have been returning many times to your gallery enjoying these wonderful images. The respect and affection you feel for the people, landscape and old structures truly shows in this amazing collection. I find the street scenes, alleyways and old stores deep and rich in color, atmosphere and insights into the lives of local people. Also your many expressive close-up portraits convey a sense of a memorable time spent together.
