The Aurora is a Russian protected cruiser built in the shipyards of St. Petersburg and launched on 11 May 1900. It was so named in honor of the frigate Aurora who defended the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamčatski during the Crimean War (1853-1856). Turned into floating museum it has become a major tourist destination of St. Petersburg. From September 2014 to July 2016 he was to work at the shipyards of Kronstadt. He resumed his place on the Neva July 16, 2016
