2013: LAND USE PROPOSAL DEFEATED (Sept 9, 2013): Planning Commission found the application for additional development to be inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan by a vote of 6-3. We had a great turnout, many letters and emails, along with support of the Grim Reaper carrying a protest sign in front of County Center. Stand-by, need one more "repeat to defeat" at the County Commission Meeting. Applicant has requested a land use change for property adjacent to the Fish Hawk Trails Community in Lithia, FL. If approved the change would double the number of homes to be built. The next Public Hearing for CPA 13-07 is scheduled for Wednesday November 13, 2013 at the County Center downtown Tampa, Hillsborough Co, 2nd floor, at 6:00 pm. Concerns: over development, inadequate water, schools, roads, fire, EMS and Sheriff patrols. Loss of a rural community!
