Valencian Spring Festival

The Fallas or Falles are a Valencian spring festival that is celebrated every year on Saint Joseph's Day in March in the capital city of Valencia and in a similar form, often on different dates, in numerous places in the Comunidad Valenciana and is part of the traditional folklore of the Valencian coast. The Fallas are the most universal festival in Valencia and have been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The name refers to the spectacular sculptures made of wood and papier-mâché that can be admired in the streets and squares of the city before they fall victim to the flames..
