The Half a Second Challenge

The idea is dead simple. You set your camera to manual or shutter priority, dial in 0.5 seconds and see what you can get. Sounds easy right? Actually, hand-holding for that amount of time is very challenging, even with the latest image stabilisation systems, so it might be that you need to find something to lean against or even (ye gads!) use a tripod in order to get a half-second shot that's good enough. Or you could go down the divinely abstract and cooly blurry route of course, or maybe use panning to get something really different.
