This is the in the spa park of Bad Ems. The statue was created in 1892 by the sculptor Martin Paul Otto.
It depicts the Kaiser as a private citizen, dressed in a frock coat rather than a uniform.
The monument is located in the historic spa district and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Great Spa Towns of Europe."
