The ceiling paintings are in the Neo-Baroque style and blend harmoniously with the sumptuous furnishings of the state rooms.
They are richly decorated and feature golden elements to emphasize the royal splendor.

The New Herrenchiemsee Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since summer 2025.

King Ludwig II of Bavaria had the palace built in 1878 as a "Temple of Fame"
for the French "Sun King" Louis XIV and as a replica of the Palace of Versailles.
