The Tauber is a river in southern Germany on both sides of the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
It rises at the western foot of the Franconian Heights, flows in a northwesterly direction for about 130 km through the Franconia region
and flows into the Main from the left and southeast in Wertheim. It gave its name to the sub-region Tauberfranken that immediately surrounds it.
