From above the Lake Hintersee in the mountaineering village of Ramsau, its wooded summit offers a panoramic view of the majestic Berchtesgaden mountains.

As has been the case for centuries, livestock is kept on the mountain pastures (Almen) in the national park.
The alpine pastures have also developed into popular excursion destinations for hikers.
