The Wiesent is the main river of Franconian Switzerland (Upper Franconia/Bavaria). It has its source in Steinfeld (district of Bamberg) and flows into the Main-Danube Canal and the Regnitz near Forchheim.
Little Venice in Forchheim
The Franconian city not only enchants with its cobblestone streets, but also with its unique architecture along the Wiesent. Here you will find numerous houses even a church right on and in the water. Similar to Venice. From the bridges that span the small river, you have a great view of Forchheim's Little Venice.
