Narrenschiffbrunnen (Ship of Fools Fountain) is a peculiar monument located just north of Museumsbrücke along Plobenhofstrasse.
This is the work of German sculptor Jürgen Weber (1984-87) and was erected here in 1988.
What you see is a bronze ship filled with characters that are sailing in a world of doom.
It is a pictorial representation of Albrecht Dürer woodcuts on the moral satire Das Narrenschiff by Sebastian Brant (1494) Figures include Adam and Eve,
Cain as a child as well as other allegorical figures of violence, war and destruction.
