Taman Negara (National Park)

Taman Negara [ National Park ]

To go to Taman Negara, take a boat from Kuala Tembeling to Kuala Tahan, 1st boat will only depart from Kuala Tembeling at 09:00am. A boat trip so called River Safari will take about 3 hours to reach the world oldest tropical rainforest beckons in Malaysia.

Explored a 130 million years of nature & adventure. Preserved to stay the way nature intended it to be for you to explore and enjoy. A heaven for hundreds of species of wildlife, exotic birds, fishes and plants.

Covering 4,343 sqkm of virgin jungle, the park offers an undisturbed diversity of habitats and plant communities. We were spotted the owl, monkeys as we travel along the meandering highways of this rich tropical rainforest. Get drenched as we negotiate seven sets of rapids. Take in panoramic views of a time-honoured civilisation. Verdant valleys, evergreen hills. Taman Negara holds the promise of an exhilarating experience.

Imagine being greeted by the most rare song-birds in the world. Every morning we were wake up by the nature's symphony. In the still of the night together with cicadas and a host of insects they perform an all-night concert like you've never heard before!! :-)

Let your spirit of adventure take you to the canopy walk, which is the top layer of vegetation in a forest. Feast your eyes on the myriad of plant and animal species that make their home here, including the birds. All you have to do is venture onto the Park's canopy walkway, installed at elevations above 25 metres and stretching over 400 metres - the world's longest. Truly a hightlight not be missed.

Jungle trekking offers and unforgettable opporutnity for the visitor to experience first hand the extraodinary beauty of nature at its best. From the Park's headquarters at Kuala Tahan, visitors may choose to explore a number of marked trails like the Tahan Trenggan trail & Bukit Teresek loop. Each trail promises a different adventure, yet all are equally fascinating. These trails have been marked carefully so as not to disturb the natural beauty of the surroundings. For a genuine jungle adventure, pack up and try jungle trekking.

Taman Negara is a heaven for all types of outdoor activities. Cave exploring, also known as spelunking is definitely worth a try when you visit Taman Negara. One of the famous caves here, Gua Telinga (Ear Caves) is carved out of limestone outcrop and is situated by a stream which runs through the cave. Ancient drawings on the walls of the cave speak of a mysterious past. The atmosphere in this cave is damp, dark & harbours a multitude of life forms such as round leaf bats.

Hey! Friends be at one with nature in a mysterious world older than the Amazon!! Undisturbed for millions of years, Taman Negara never fails to evoke a sense of awe. :-)
