We had arrived in Varanasi from Gorakhpur at 430am. The train station was a scene of organised chaos. We managed to get a taxi driver who took us to the start of the old city, then led us on foot to the hotel of our choice! We arrived just in time to watch the sun rise over the Ganges from the roof of the hotel.
