In 1967 San Francisco was the epicenter of a large scale change in America. This movement probably was motivated by the protest of the unpopular Vietnam War, but it embraced the use of drugs, "free" love, anti-establishment behavior and a philosophy of doing whatever feels good. The heart of this movement was a little known at the time neighborhood in San Francisco where two streets come together, Haight Street and Ashbury. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_of_Love
This photographic visit has been on my mind for years and I finally got the opportunity to walk around the neighborhood on the last day of November. I will leave it to you, the viewer, to decide what 46 years did to this neighborhood and draw your own conclusion.
A great collection of Spirit Captures of this area, thanks to your fine eye... Definitely not as it was 46 years ago, but plenty of that spirit remains, for sure. And you have captured it beautifully. Great work.
