Sinking Of The Uss Vandenberg

These are pics of the sinking of the USS Vandenberg. The second largest ever scuttled ship for diving. She was a WWII tracking ship of missles and later used for NASA during the Gemini, Mercury and Apollo missions. She is 522 feet long and is now at her final resting place 6 miles off of Key West, and will be one the best diving wrecks in the world. It took all of a minute and 44 seconds for her to go under and now she is resting perfectly on the sand for us to enjoy!!! Notice all the holes cut in the side for the divers.
