My great uncle Jack Allen used to run the SS Rushlight in Watchet and lived in one of the red brick cottages up on the hill over looking the whole harbour. They were great child memories of mine and I returned there last week for a couple of days to re visit places I went as a child. I met the current Harbour Master who actually worked with Uncle Jack as a child and knew some of the other Allen family that lived there. (Ralph and Rita Allen and their two children) He was a delight to talk to and my visit was great. The harbour is obviously different now that it is a marina but still a beautiful place to be. Any information about days gone by would be great. One question I have wondered if Thomas Allen who is mentioned in the book I bought at the Harbour Museum was related to the Late Jack Allen.
