These two strikingly different globular star clusters are located in the constellation Coma Berenices.
NGC 5053, the loose cluster of stars at top left looks more like an open star cluster.
It has a combined visual magnitude of 9.4 and its brightest individual stars shine at a faint 15th magnitude.
M53 is the bright, highly condensed, globular star cluster at the bottom of the frame. Its visual magnitude is 7.6 with its brightest red giant stars shining at about mag 13.8
