M5 75 widefield

M5 is a bright globular star cluster in the constellation Serpens.
One of the oldest globular clusters in the galaxy it has a large population of red giant stars, each of which is several thousand times as bright as the sun.

Sub exposures taken on 5-27-07 Average seeing and transparency. Moon 80% illuminated!
75x120 second 400 iso subs
Orion 80ED and Celestron CGE mount unguided (75 out of 75 subs used)
Canon 300D
Dark and flat calibrated
Ambient temp 65 degrees
