I was lucky enough to be in the right place and time, when the Penn State research group I work with was awarded a grant to work in South Africa from 2009 - 2014. During that period of time, I was able to travel to the research site several times. During my time off duty, I always tried to get in some birding and photography. The research group had the opportunity to visit Marakele National Park (2012) and Pilanesburg National Park (2014). The photos were prepared as 'faux polaroid prints' on simulated pages of a photo album for a presentation to the State College Bird Club in Feb 2015. The images were captured either with an Olympus EP-1 (2012) or an Olympus EP-2 (2014; with VF-1viewfinder.
