One more vist: Trumpeter Swans in Clinton County, PA

Hello All,

I made two more trips to see the Trumpeter Swans in Clinton County, on March 25, and for the final time, April 3, 2011. On March 25 the birds were still near Bald Eagle Creek (east of Castanea), but spending time in a flooded corn field, as the creek was running very high.

On April 3 a friend tipped me to find them in another flooded corn field along River Road, at a farm, about 1 mile east of the big island on the West Branch of the Susquehanna. The two Trumpeters were in the company of a single Tundra Swan. I have since learned (April 8) that all three birds have moved on.
