Immature male: Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Presented here are a few images of an immature male Ruby-throated Hummingbird that was regularly visiting my feeders towards the end of August 2008. He may have fledged from a nest near my property, and was an offspring of the male and female hummingbirds that visited my feeders all summer. A brave fellow, this little guy would approach me in a zig-zag flight as he appeared to check me out while I sat quitely on the front porch! He was last seen visiting morning glories and garden spruge on Sept 10 or 11 last week and no hummers have been visiting my feeders since, so migration is underway.

Camera info: Nikon D200 with Nikor 300mm f4 AF lens and Nikon SB-28 speedlight set to 1/8 power using built-in bounce card and diffuser.

Great pictures!

I get NO males at all at my feeder for the past few years, thogh they were here when I first hung it out. Any ideas? Haven't seen this specific question on any site.
