Immature Cooper's Hawk at Bald Eagle State Park, PA

Today, November 22, 2008, I photographed this immature Cooper's Hawk while birding in Bald Eagle State Park, near Howard, Pennsylvania. The bird was perched in a large tree by the main park road, at the "Y"intersection. The temperatures were in the low 20's, overcast with snow showers. The goshawk is a rare, winter visitor to our area.
Nikon D200 camera with Nikkor 300mm f4, AF lens and a Tamron 1.4x teleconverter. A Nikon SB-28 flash fitted with a Lumiquest Snoot flash extender was used to illuminate the bird. Images obtained while using my car as a blind.
