Cedar Waxwings at Curtin Wetlands, Curtin Village, PA

I watched 22 Cedar Waxwings eating last season's thawing crabapples. At first the birds fled from their feeding site, but soon returned. I approached carefully while they fed and appeared to have no concern over my presence. These closeups of a couple of the birds are the results of approaching the birds slowly and with care.
The Olympus EM-1 Mark II and the Olympus 40-150mm Pro lens with 1.4x teleconverter work very well in tight quarters such as a willow and crabapple thicket. I used manual focus over-ride for the closeups to ensure sharp results.
