The Rev. Douglas and Dr. Elizabeth Searles (nee Grupp) are United Church of Christ personnel serving the Radio and Television University in Chengdu, China. While home in the USA in the latter part of 2004 they visited many churches -- including St. John's United Church of Christ near Peterson, Iowa. This is the church in which Bob Grupp preaches every Sunday, and Susan is pianist for the worship services. On December 5, 2004 it was a delight to observe Missions Emphasis Sunday with members of our own family telling of their work in China. And, of course, their children, Mackenzie and McCleary shared with us, too!
