1/17 - A Bit of Light Reading

Home, Office

Friends and family decided I was serious about this photography thing and so I got these for Christmas
this year. I will likely be until next Christmas, if not longer, reading all these and learning to
make use of the wonderful information inside. So far, I can highly recommend "The DAM Book" (third
from the top) for anyone trying to figure out what to do with all these photos we shutterbugs take.

This shot is part of B&W month. Others participating can be seen in this PAD Forum Thread.

Nice collection. I would suggest the Camera Raw one first (read it, learned from it), then the Channels book (for sure before the Skin book). I hear the Skin books assumes quite a bit of Photoshop skill as a prereq. They say if you read atleast an hour a day about your field of study in five years you will be at the top of your game. I have one year down, four to go. Good luck.

Sheesh! That's just the books you got for Christmas? Not counting the books you already had on your to-read pile? I think you'll be busy for a while.
