Security

Room 424, Perot Center for Women and Infants, Dallas Tx

I had two reactions to this electronic security anklet on my daughter when they brought her to my
wife's room after her visit to the Admission Nursery. The first was how great the security was and
how protected I felt my little girl was there. The second was how sad it is that this level of
security is required for newest and most innocent of us.

The anklet is tied to an alarm system in both the stairwells and elevators. It will go off if the
baby is moved too near to either without it being disabled by hospital staff.

They lo-jack babies? Who knew? I am glad they do, it is nice and safe.

We can't help some of the conditions we live in but we can fight them and this is a great idea. All precious things need protecting. :-)

Like you ... I think children at this age should be allowed to keep their innocense. But the reality of our times is that security measure do need to be taken. She is precious ... enjoy her every second. Congratulations.

The stories these days would freak out anybody. It's so assuring to know the measures they go to to give parents more peace. Just don't mistakenly take her down the elevator/steps without deactivating ;)
