The Thousand Islands is one of the most scenic spots in Ontario and northern New York. Over 1,800 islands (defined as anything permanently above water that can support at least one tree) dot this portion of the St. Lawrence River that straddles the Canada / US border. The region is a stunning mixture of woodlands, islands and water, and known for some of the best boating and fishing in North America.
