Now I see why some call it "The Lobster" and/or "The Trilobite"! (the system of hills and hillocks a little above the centre of the photograph). The relatively large cluster of low hills east of Gassendi (between Gassendi and "The Helmet") is unofficially called the "Andreus hills" (this name was printed on the large greenish Rand Mc.Nally moonmap and on the same moonmap in Patrick Moore's Atlas Of The Universe). What's the origin of the unofficial name "Andreus hills"? Nobody seems to know...
Spectacular photograph.
