I have a new, manual technique for achieving a near infinite depth of field:
- Take 4-5 shots of the subject at different focus points
- Load them in as layers via Adobe Bridge
- Use the Edit->Auto Align Layers tool in photoshop as changing the focus point changes the magnification of the subject.
- Manually select each layer and mask in only the bits that are sharp
- Merge all the layers together.
I'll be glad when February is over.
