Sunset Crater / Wupatki

Early Hopi or Anasazi Indian settlement on the edge of the Little Colorado river Plateau. And the 13th century Lava flows near the San Francisco Peak in Northern AZ. Its was abandoned when the Sunset crater blew its Ash and covered the area about 1250 AD.
Small settlement with spring nearby. Ceremony ring and Housing Dead tree towards the haze. Back wall was a huge sandstone rock

I think the mason was drinking fermented Yucca juice. Not all of the masons were the same then either. Built with the suroundings

Bob. Do you remember our trip to the remains of what could only be described as "Uncle Willy's Museum of the Desert" (ref: "GARGOYLES" the movie)? I believe the remains of it's actual name was barely present on a hand painted sign back then.
"Chief Something-Or-Another's! See the snakes, coyotes, and jackalopes of Northern Arizona!"
And what of that sandstone wash we climbed down into? I wonder if the little stone home in the bottom (complete with "killing entrance"!) of that canyon was of native origin?
The classic, old, Shell gas station just east of that has been imortalized in many a road-trip movie since then too. That place had a peculiar attraction, like a prehistoric fly caught forever in a drop of amber.
