We arrived in Vancouver a short while after the Boston Bruins had beaten the Vancouver Canucks for the Stanley Cup and the riots in dowtown Vancouver. Most of the damage had been repaired except for a couple of boarded up windows. This was one of them. People we talked to said that so many people came out to help clean up and make repairs that some had to be turned away.
Vancouver is probably the most friendly, most polite city I have ever visited. If you stand on a street corner with a tourist map people will stop and ask if they can help you. Plus, it's a beautiful city, very clean with flowers everywhere.
