I had considered building the nose cowling myself, but in the end opted to purchase it.
In the end I think it was a good decision. I purchased it from Univair and it fit perfectly with almost no tweeking.
The propeller was made by Ted Hendrickson of Concrete Washington. A number of years ago Ted taught me enough of his craft to carve my own propeller, and I did, but for a different engine than I eventually acquired. He has since retired, and I'm proud to have one of his creations on my airplane.
One day while visiting a friend who was nearing completion of his Cub project we came to understand we both had the same problem, and we could do a strait across trade and each have the propeller we needed. It worked out very well.
I still plan on carving a propeller for this project at some point.
