You own a Digital SLR or advanced Point and Shot camera and want to learn how to take use the many new features in this new technology to create great photography. The class will cover which lenses are best suited to your particular needs and how to use the relevant camera settings to take full advantage of the cameras and lenses. Basic flash and lighting techniques, different focal length lenses, basic camera functions and the unique features of your particular camera will be explained. (Please bring your camera and manual.) Resolution, exposure modes and auto focus will be covered, as well as custom functions and when to use them. The class will discuss cameras made by Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony and Leica. This class will be divided in three alternating modules, which will include:

First, classroom instruction on the equipment and general photography principles, including basic composition.

Second, on the field instruction as we practice the techniques covered in the classroom.

Third, evaluation and critique of the student’s work.

The field instruction modules will be conducted in local Miami venues away from the classroom. There may be entrance fees for access to these locations.
This class will meet for six three hour sections. The first two sessions, the fourth and the sixth will be conducted in the classroom. The third and fifth sessions will be field trips. The classrom sessions will be conducted on Thursdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm: The field sessions will be conducted from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on Saturday.
