Killdeer lay their eggs on the ground making the eggs and the young vulnerable to preditors. Sometimes man is the preditor. On July 2nd, 2006 the nest and the eggs were intact. The following morning, three of the four eggs had been removed and the Killdeer had abandoned the nest and the remaining egg.
