Hello Lavinia- My husband and I were friends of Val and Ruth's in Malta for several years. I used to visit them at home, at which time, I think there were four of you children. I remember two girls, but not their names, a beautiful boys named Ludovic, and another baby boy who wasn't very old when I left Malta. I corresponded with Ruth after we left Malta, but lost touch around 1980. By that time, you all were in England, and we were back in the States. I bought several paintings from the gallery during my time in Malta, including four by an artist named John Selden. I cannot find anything about him, and always wondered if that was a pseudonym of your father's. I had one watercolor Val did, but it was on posterboard, and has been destroyed, much to my dismay. I wish I had another, for memory's sake. I would like very much to know about your mother. Is she still alive? As I recall, she was very much younger than Val. I like to be put in touch with her if possible.

I am the sister of Lavinina Braun and I am writing this on what would have been our fathers 90th birthday 14th February 2009. Seeing the photographs of where we lived and where my father had his Art Gallery brings back so many wonderful childhood memories, I almost feel as if I am still there. My sister Lavinia recalls a lovely memory of when our father sold a painting. Our father was a superb artist and thrived in Mdina where his family lived for 10 very happy years.

Just visited Mdina 21 Sept 2008 and it was fascinating. What a beautiful place and your photos really do it justice. We didn't get to go inside the Cathedral as there was a wedding taking place but now, thanks to your gallery, we can see what we missed!

Wonderful, wonderful gallery :-) I was in Mdina in May of 1994 but we visited it at night after dark. Mdina looks wonderful by streetlights too ! :-)

I spent the last two weeks of October in Mdina and enjoyed your gallery. I did not think about taking a picture of the cars negotiating the narrow streets. That is my favorite shot. Thank you for sharing you pictures.
