DHL Saga
My 80-400mm lens broke on arrival at South Luangwa National Park
Many thanks to Loveness of DHL Livingstone for her infinite patience with my persistance
But without the help of Patsy Hahn from Wildlife Camp (left) the lens would never have gotten out of Zambian customs in Lusaka
Proflight Zambia EMB120 (ZS-PYO) taxiing in from Lusaka with my lens just in time for our flight to Botswana
The lens went from Dubai to Jo'burg to Harare to Jo'burg to Lusaka where is sat trapped in customs for 2 days
Gabriel from DHL Livingstone with me at the airport on a Sunday to receive ... finally ... my package
We had a difficult time convincing Zambian customs that the package was only in transit and we shouldn't have to pay $1200 tax
Finally, we got the paperwork sorted out and the lens was released with just $100 of clearing charges
