The Al Ain - Buraimi border is no longer open. There are two 'apartheid' border posts, setup by the UAE, the one is near the city but is for GCC nationals only, the other at Hilli which is around 8 kilometers away near the camel market is for expatriates and tourists. Tourists will require a multiple entry UAE visa to visit the various historical sites in Buraimi. Delays at the Hilli border post can vary greatly from a few minutes to over an hour depending upon your time of travel.
