Mill's Geoduck

First Splash - August 26, 2012

The long awaited day has arrived. Photos below are of John Mill's 18' Geoduck Hovercraft, a four year project, and his second build. The first was a Vanguard. I'm not sure if there are other twin engine Geo's out there, but there should be. This craft exceeds expectations so far. There is more to be done, but first indications are all good. Vessel gets over the hump at almost the first impulse of thrust, accelerates quickly, and should rapidly reach front skirt airspeed limitations. An airspeed indicator might be a good addition. The cabin area is large, open, and likely will haul a load of 1200#. Once over the hump, vessel levels out nicely, regardless of weight and balance. Craft was built to the 18' hull length, which seems to work very well. The pond skimmers all had a fun day, and we hope to see the rest of you out traveling an eight-inch above the surface. This thing is great! We can take passengers now.
