Sonnenberg, built between 1885 and 1887, was the summer home of Frederick Ferris and Mary Clark Thompson. Mary's father was Myron Holley Clark, governor of New York between 1855 and 1857. Frederick Ferris was a founder of the First National Bank of the City of New York, now known as Citibank.
