Orr Hot Springs is in a steep green valley that runs to the ocean, half an hour's drive along a winding road from Ukiah. Ukiah is several hours from anything. The hills are verdant clumped with coastal redwoods, the tallest trees on the planet, and perhaps the most unphotographable as well (how can you frame a 250 ft. tree?). This is the forest primeval.
